We're prepping for Nate's big 5th birthday coming up. Today we made marshmallow fondant for the first time. I'll be posting the recipe and how to later, if it actually turns out. We learned a couple of things from the process today:
#1 - Wear gloves if you are going to color your fondant. Unless you think spotted colorful hands are cool. Nate liked the color.
#2 - Grease your work surface liberally with vegetable shortening. Marshmallow fondant is sticky. If your work surface isn't slick the fondant will stick to your work surface.
I'll be rolling out the fondant and cutting shapes in the next few days. Wish me luck!
