Peeling a Butternut Squash


Peeling butternut squash is a kitchen injury waiting to happen. I've nearly lost a finger tip while trying to plunge my knife through one. A smarty-pants friend of mine casually threw out that she uses a vegetable peeler to skin her butternut squash. It was such a simple comment but one that changed my world! A veggie peeler sails through the skin so easily and saves so much more flesh (both the squashes and mine!) than if you use a knife.


The Lent Supper recipe for this Friday will be using butternut squash so remember this tip, it will come in handy!
